News: Dublin flights axed from Inverness

Aer Arann is scrapping its flights between Inverness and Dublin this winter.
The Irish airline has blamed the escalating cost of fuel and the economic downturn for its decision to axe the route.
Flights will stop at the end of September, but the firm said it would review the situation after the winter.
The cut comes after BMI withdrew its Heathrow to Inverness service earlier this year.
A spokesman for Inverness Airport operator Highlands and Islands Airports, said: “The current aviation climate in the UK is very difficult and airlines are looking at their operations.
"We expect summer at Inverness to be on a par with last summer but, when it comes into the winter months, we have to anticipate there's a possibility that the frequency of flights may be reduced, when passenger demand is lower."
There are currently no other airlines operating scheduled flights from Inverness to Dublin.
