Thomsonfly is launching flights to four new destinations from Coventry next summer.
The budget airline will operate flights to the Tunisian resort Monastir, the Balearic island of Menorca and the islands of Corfu and Zakynthos in Greece throughout the summer 2009 season.
Thomsonfly spokesman Guy Stephenson said the new routes would provide a welcome boost to the Midlands airport as it takes its appeal against the Government’s controversial decision to block plans for a new terminal to the High Court.
He added: “The exciting new introductions for next summer are in response to customer demand for more unusual destinations.”

Comment:
At last, some good news for Coventry Airport, which is currently facing a tough High Court battle to overturn the Government's decision to refuse planning permission for a new passenger terminal. Thomsonfly's offering of cheap flights from Coventry has looked very lacklustre of late, whereas Wizz Air's decision to suspend its Gdansk flights in May was also a huge disappointment for the airport. So, these four new routes, all of which are to interesting destinations, are very welcome indeed. Of particular note is the introduction of flights to Monastir, the first ever flights from Coventry to Africa.
