News: VLM adds extra Belgium flights following Channel Tunnel fire

VLM Airlines will continue to add additional services to its London City-Brussels and Antwerp routes while rail travel through the channel tunnel remains disrupted.
Last weekend the business specialist flew four extra daily flights between London and Belgium. It is now operating one supplementary service – in addition to its usual two daily return flights – on the Brussels route.
The extra flight leaves London City at 8.55pm, arriving in Brussels at 10.55pm. The additional service from Brussels takes off at 8.15pm, arriving at 8.25pm.
VLM’s managing director, Johan Vanneste, said the situation may continue for several weeks and that more extra flights could be introduced to satisfy demand.
He added: “Last week, many Eurostar customers contacted our call centre, made online reservations or booked through a travel agent.
"Our normal and extra flights were sold out in no time, sometimes even within a few minutes.”
