News: Air France scraps LA flights from Heathrow
Flights > News > # 1928 (13/10/2008)
Air France is axing its flights from London Heathrow to Los Angeles at the end of November just six months after launching the route.
Air France had high hopes of taking advantage of the liberalisation of the aviation market between the European Union and the US, which came into force at the end of March, but struggled to gain a foothold on an already overcrowded route. There is fierce competition on the Heathrow/Los Angeles route and Air France was fighting for market share against five other carriers: British Airways, Virgin Atlantic, United Airlines, American Airlines and Air New Zealand.
