News: Thomsonfly axes Coventry flights
Flights > News > # 1934 (15/10/2008)
Budget airline Thomsonfly is scrapping all flights from Coventry next month.
The news comes just ten days after Coventry Airport lost its High Court appeal to build a new passenger terminal and a month after Polish no-frills carrier Wizz Air pulled the plug on its Coventry flights.
Thomsonfly’s last outbound flights from Coventry will be on November 2 and the last inbound flights to Coventry will be on November 9. Any customers with bookings for travel after these dates will be contacted over the next few days to arrange alternative travel plans or a refund.
Thomsonfly managing director, Chris Browne, said: "With an increased focus on charter holiday flights, there is now a growing need for our aircraft on these routes and consequently our scheduled operations at Coventry Airport will regrettably terminate.”
Thomsonfly continues to operate from 23 airports across the UK, including those within easy reach of Coventry such as Birmingham, East Midlands and Luton.
