Ryanair is suspending flights to the Spanish resort of Alicante from Durham Tees Valley this winter due to poor ticket sales.
The Irish no-frills airline will pull the three-times weekly service from its schedule in mid-December for the remainder of the winter.
A spokesman for Durham Tees Valley Airport said: “Obviously we are disappointed that Ryanair have decided to withdraw the Alicante service from mid-December for the rest of the winter schedule but, of course, all airlines are currently reviewing their operations in the light of very difficult conditions facing the industry and the economy as a whole.”
