News: Virgin Atlantic and BMI expand codeshare agreement
Flights > News > # 2053 (14/01/2009)
Virgin Atlantic and BMI are expanding their existing codeshare agreement so that customers can make through bookings with both airlines.
The new deal means that customers from the UK regions wishing to fly long-haul with Virgin Atlantic only have to make one booking rather than two separate transactions. For example, you will now be able to book flights from Aberdeen to San Francisco via London Heathrow on Virgin Atlantic’s website whereas previously you would have to book the two legs of the journey separately.
BMI currently operates flights to Heathrow from Aberdeen, Belfast City, Durham Tees Valley, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Leeds Bradford and Manchester. Virgin Atlantic fly to a wide range of long-hul destinations from Heathrow, including Delhi, Hong Kong, Lagos, Los Angeles, Mauritius, Shanghai, Sydney and Tokyo.
