Lufthansa is scrapping its flights from Bristol to Frankfurt due to a recent fall in demand.
The German national airline is stopping the route on May 1.
Lufthansa’s UK manager, Marianne Sammann, said: “The economic downturn in the UK started shortly after we launched our Bristol operation and this presented us with additional challenges.
“Passenger figures for the four months from November to February have dropped by around 12% compared with the previous four months and this downward trend is not expected to change in the near future.”
The airline hopes to resume the service once the economy starts to recover.
