News: British Airways to launch Las Vegas flights from London

British Airways has announced plans to launch daily flights to Las Vegas from London Heathrow this winter.
The new direct Vegas flights will take off in late October.
Airline officials say they consider Las Vegas a growth opportunity for the company, despite the slowdown in the tourism industry. BA currently offers more flights to the US from the UK than any other airline, serving a total of 18 American cities.
Las Vegas tourism chiefs welcomed the news. Visitors' bureau vice president, Cathy Tull, says the flight is a result of a decade of work to bring BA to the airport.
The only other airline currently operating flights to Las Vegas from London is Virgin Atlantic, which offers a daily service from Gatwick.
