News: Delta cuts back UK flights this winter
Flights > News > # 2191 (18/06/2009)
Delta Air France is cutting the number of flights it operates to the US from the UK this winter. The airline has blamed high fuel prices and a fall in demand for its decision to reduce services. The cuts will be introduced from September onwards.
Edinburgh to New York JFK flights will be suspended, whilst flights from London Gatwick to Cincinnati will also be cut.
A Delta Air France spokesman said: "Customer demand for international travel has fallen significantly.
"This fall's capacity reductions will target routes that have experienced losses in the current economic climate and with higher fuel prices.”
Delta will continue to fly from Gatwick and Heathrow airports to Atlanta and from Heathrow to New York JFK.
