News: British airlines scoop top awards

British carriers took the top spots in all three sections of the airline category in the 2009 Conde Nast Traveller Readers' Awards.
Bmi was voted the leading short-haul leisure airline with an overall score of 87.37, followed by Swiss, British Airways and KLM.
In the long-haul leisure section, Virgin Atlantic's scooped top spot with a rating of 90 from Conde Nast Traveller readers. Air New Zealand and Qantas came second and third respectively.
British Airways led the business airline category ahead of Etihad Airways and Emirates, while EasyJet was voted this year's top low-cost airline, followed by Flybe and bmibaby.
